About

The launch conference was opened by Robert Evans MEP who welcomed delegates and spoke of the need for Geographical education in Europe. The network was challenged to embrace the issues facing Europe and to develop excellence in learning and teaching Geography through the Bologna Process.

Membership

The map (right) represents the members of the HERODOT network at the time of the launch.

All European countries, except Liechtenstein had partner institutions in HERODOT. At the time of application there were 47 partners. By the launch conference 75 institutions were members.

At the end of the first phase of HERODOT had almost 150 members, increasingly worldwide.
