HERODOT held its main 2007 conference in Stockholm, Sweden. This conference was a working conference where participants developed the themes of the network through the four working groups or thematic pillars.

The conference topic was "Geography for Society:  Putting Bologna into Action", which linked closely to research that has been undertaken by the network during its first phase. This activity included the publication of TUNING Geography research and publication of the State of Geography report.

Conference location

Stockholm is the capital of Sweden, located on the east coast at the entrance of Lake Malaren. It has a population of 1,870,000 which makes it the largest city in Scandinavia. It is the economic, transportation, administrative, and cultural center of Sweden.

Conference publication

All HERODOT members are asked to submit an abstract and then full papers, which will be edited and published as proceeedings at the conference. Advice for authors and Paper guidance. Selected papers will be published in book form after the event.


Conference field visit

There will be an opportunity for conference participants to explore (at their own expense) the islands on a field excursion or the city centre.

This is available independently to the HERODOT event.
